Wireless IO Modules and New Products

Some wireless modules enable a connection to act like a wireless cable by linking the modules with an ultra low latency bidirectional wireless RF link. Many wireless IO transceivers use this technology and reduce the costs of many products in the market place today. With rf telemetry, needed skill is eliminated for technicians to perform on site manual monitoring, and wireless IO provides consistent and reliable data collection. Studies have found the solution to reduce costs and create better data management is by utilizing these wireless modules.  Wireless IO technology is a great asset when used in short distance applications in areas where running a cable is difficult. The savings over wiring alone is an great advantage and the downtime saved is enticing.

The frequency hopping technology that wireless transceiver modules use helps to bypass noisy frequencies and interference. This is particularly important to ensure reliability, and prevent problems from cascading in the system. By assigning the transceivers to communicate with each other in the network, they become particularly effective when delivering small info packets. A network ID is assigned by configuring the device as a master or slave and employing simple jumpers. This allows up to 16 device pairs to be used in the same area without interference. There are many applications that the wireless IO modules can be used for, including wireless telemetry, remote date acquisition, serial cable replacement, and other industrial wireless systems. The small investment spent now on improvement of infrastructure will improve the products strength in the market and allow them to better utilize their existing assets.
