Things To Know When Buying A Desktop Computer

There are a few things to look at when buying a desktop computer for your home or office. First is the amount of random access memory or RAM that a computer has. RAM can be compared to a desk in that the more desk space that you have to put things the better it is. With more desk space you have room to put a phone, computer, monitor, pens, paper, etc. And have room to move around. The hard drive is like the drawers that come with the desk. You store files in the drawers and when you need those files you pull them out and put them on the desktop to use.

RAM works like the desktop space so when you have more RAM you are able to pull out more files or open more widows, have multiple spreadsheets open, word documents, and others and your computer will run just fine. With less RAM you can only have a few files pulled out or open and running at one time. Depending on what you are using your computer for you will want to look at the amount of RAM it has. If the computer is for work then you most likely will want more RAM but for home you may not need as much.

Another thing to look at is the processor speed of the desktop computer. The processor is the brains of the computer it handles the operations you perform. Going back to the desk example the files that are stored in the desk drawers or hard drive need to be retrieved in order to use. When you search for the file you need in order to put it on top of the desk that is like the processor working. The processor has to find and load the files onto the computer screen so you can work with them. The faster the processor the quicker you get your files.

These features are good to know about when you are looking for a desktop computer so that you get something that will fit your individual needs. Other things are important to look at but these will be some of the most important features of the system you buy.
